Earlier this year we welcomed a group from Latvia, who have kindly send back feedback about their experience!
From the first student:
“I would like to say thank you, for participating in the Erasmus Project+.
Thank you for getting to know your culture and the city of Portsmouth. I liked the lecture because I knew your habits and traditions. I gained an unforgettable experience and spent a wonderful time. I meet new people and know when the English people are very nice, kind, helpfull and responsive. Thanks for the tour to London, I was there for the first time and saw a lot of things interesting things.
I was grateful to work for Andres’s food bar. People out there are very nice, friendly and receptive. I was taught how to cook all sorts of panini and baguettes. I was folding the boxes and filling the drinks and making bread in the oven. Also cutting salads and washing dishes as everyone starts from the bottom. I met all the employees and we became friends. Working there, I felt like part of them.
Thank you for everything and I hope I get back there and see my new friends.”
From the second student:
“I would like to say “thank you IBD” for this great work experience that I’ve had here in Portsmouth. Excellent way of working and a very professional team that always help me out if I need help or tell me advice to do something better or easier. Thank you for all your support and efforts during these 4 weeks. In these 4 weeks, I spent my time so great that I could explain in words because something like that I need to try out by myself.
I would like to say ” Thank you” to you because you were our guide for a cultural visit in Portsmouth and as well you showed us through London, told us history facts about every place that we went, and you took us to interesting places like “Big Ben”, “The London Eye” which was awesome, as well you took us to “Gunwharf” which is shopping centre and many different things which were awesome as well, you told us best and cheap places to go eat and told us where is the cinema, tourist tower and just free time activities that we could do in our free time which were cheap or just for free and thank you for advice what we could visit in our free time.
Well, thank you for telling how we need to act and how we need to talk to people and how to get in touch with them and told us how we need to behave. Thank you for everything, I may come back and would like to meet up with you.”
The last feedback:
“I participated in the Erasmus Plus project 5th February- 4th March this year. I worked in Andres’s food bar. I’ve improved my skills in my field of profession. My job responsibilities included washing dishes, helping to make a variety of snacks, bagels. I liked all my colleagues- they were very helpful. The lessons from this experience will be useful for future learning and future work. About this month I got to know an English culture and improved my English Language knowledge. I’ve received a certificate of work experience at Andres Food Bar. Cultural visits were interesting. Portsmouth is a beautiful city near the sea.
I highly appreciate this opportunity to practice in Portsmouth.“
