What is an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing?

A job shadowing visit is a structured professional observation programme that places teachers, trainers and education staff alongside their counterparts in schools, colleges and organisations abroad. Participants observe real working environments, exchange teaching methods and build lasting professional relationships across borders.

Job shadowing programmes can run from 1 day to 2 weeks and can be arranged for individual staff members or groups of up to 20 participants.

Every participant returns with fresh ideas, new approaches and a European professional network that enriches their practice at home.

    We discuss your professional development goals, subject area, experience level and preferred dates

    We identify a suitable host school or organisation and confirm the shadowing arrangement

    We arrange all logistics including flights, transfers, accommodation and a structured daily programme

    We share the full programme with you and your school ahead of departure for review and approval

    On arrival our local IBD staff meet you personally and introduce you to your host institution
